Engineering Stores supervisor

The role of Engineering Stores supervisor is required to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner and that the spares necessary for the operation of the site are readily available and are held at suitable levels

What will the role involve?

  • Finding the most cost effective supplier for engineering spares and services.
  • Place and receipt orders, enter up stores issues on the INFOR system.
  • Arrange engineering stores in appropriate locations.
  • Keeping the Engineering stores in a tidy and organized state at all times.
  • Responsible for front of house engineering visitors, meeting all external visitors and directing to the appropriate contact.
  • Responsible for the management and control of stock in the Niro remote motor stores.
  • Carry out procedures relating to stock control including use of Stock Control System & carry out stock takes when requested.
  • Operate a forklift truck for the receipt of goods and assistance with engineering work.
  • Monitor, order, receipt and supervise delivery of boiler fuel.
  • Monitor energy usage against production for climate change.
  • Ensure that the stores are kept in a clean, orderly manner.
  • Operate planned maintenance system, issue job sheet, maintain records of completed work.
  • Maintain records of contractor work, training records, method statements, work sheets etc.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Ability to operate a forklift truck.
  • Computer literate, able to use Cdata excel, with fast but accurate typing skills.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical understanding.
  • Good organisational and filing skills.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on time.
  • Coshh awareness.
  • Comfortable in autonomous decision making and team working.
