The Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the lead process engineer, you will be working 4on/4off shifts within our Process/Plant

To have overall responsibility for maintaining efficient operation of the process & plant equipment.

To ensure that other than planned downtime the processing plant is available and running at optimum levels at all times. To be proactive in meeting site requirements by reducing process waste and minimizing utility usage in the process area. Ensure that the product that we produce is of the highest standard by not compromising the process plant with short term fixes

To have overall responsibility for maintaining efficient operation of the utility equipment. To ensure that there is an uninterrupted supply (unless planned) of steam, air, water and electricity to the site and that they are used efficiently. To be proactive in ensuring the site meets its targets for KPI’s including energy usage and emissions control.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

· Use continuous improvement techniques and best practice to improve machine efficiencies.

· Deliver and develop effective reactive maintenance, repairs & improvements on plant and process equipment. This includes pumps, pneumatic valves, homogeniser servicing, effluent testing etc

· Identify parts required for maintenance repairs and complete parts request forms

· Provide correct and effective communication to all departments

· Complete Work Orders, PPMs assigned on time and to a good standard

· Complete daily checks and all paperwork thoroughly

· Participate in shift hand-overs on a daily basis

· Help develop and implement effective PM schedules

· Support and achieve the engineering department KPI’s

· Participate in the engineering road map projects

· Follow company policies and procedures

 

Experience & Skills

· Electrical & mechanical bias preferable

· Multi-skilled automation skills on process equipment or equivalent

· Excellent fault finding and root cause analysis skills

· Experience of working in a FMCG environment

· Comfortable in autonomous decision making and team working
