To support this growth we are now seeking a shift engineer to join our experienced team.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Lead engineer, you will be working Pittman rotating 12 hour shifts within our retail production facility:

–        Attend machine breakdowns efficiently and provide effective measures to ensure issues are resolved

–        Carry out PPM, corrective and improvement actions on all packing and process machines

–        Use continuous improvement techniques and best practice to improve machine efficiencies.

–        Deliver and develop effective re-active maintenance, repairs & improvements

–        Use of and feedback on, appropriate spares required

–        Provide correct and effective communication to all ‘Stakeholders’

–        Generate and complete work orders on the CMMS.

–        Help develop and implement effective PM schedules

–        Support and achieve the engineering KPI’s

–        Assist the Lead Engineer in identifying and carrying out improvements

–        Complete weekend maintenance when the equipment is not in production

–        Send a detailed daily shift report

–        To have overall responsibility for maintaining efficient operation of the process equipment

–        To ensure that other than planned downtime the processing plant is available and running at optimum levels at all times. To be proactive in meeting site requirements by reducing process waste and minimizing utility usage in the process area

–        Ensure that the product that we produce is of the highest standard by not compromising the process plant with short term fixes

–        To have experience with utilities so that you can cover the role on a night shift

Background

  • The successful candidate will be proven experience in a fast- paced manufacturing environment
  • A degree holder in relevant engineering qualifications (HND,HNC, Degree, NVQ Level 3 etc.)
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge of engineering
  • Pumps, pneumatic valve knowledge would be beneficial
  • VSD knowledge

 

Experience & Skills

–        Multi-skilled automation skills on packing equipment or equivalent

–        Excellent fault finding and route cause analysis skills

–        Experience of working in a FMCG environment

–        Some supervisory experience would be beneficial

–        Comfortable in autonomous decision making and team working
